B-day party ideas

So it's super fun to do scavenger hunts but what if Ii threw a twist to it.Where either you write the clues on a balloon or you have the clue hidden in the balloon on a piece of paper and you have to pop it. And this game can work for practically any party theme.

One time for my birthday we had a Mr. Men themed party. It was great because we could do so many games. In our gift bags we had silly string and put from Mr.Silly and Mr.Messy on a tag.Another game we had at that party was where you threw back a sting behind a curtain and someone would connect a prize to the end of it. If you didn't like it you could be Mr. Greedy and get one more try. If you didn't like that then you were out of luck.

Another party theme idea is a Water Party especially if it's a summer party. There are lots of games to do with that. You can have a water gun fight. You can even throw in a twist where you have to earn a water gun from games. You can play limbo with a hose and if you touch the water you're out. What if you played a game where there are two teams and you dunk sponges in a bucket of water and you try to throw at the other team. If you hit them then they are out. If they catch it then they can invite someone from their team back in and the person who threw it is out. The first team to get the other team out wins.Another game is where you toss a water balloon between two people and if it breaks you pass it to the next pair of people the last pair left wins! You could also use trash bags for a water slide. For a pinata you could fill a trash bag with water and hit it until it bursts. Lastly you could give everyone a water gun give the tagger a bigger one. If the tagger gets the other players then they are frozen. They can only be unfrozen if the other players tag you with their water gun. for more ideas try http://www.birthdayinabox.com/party-ideas/water-games.html

Another party game is where all players are wearing different accessories such as necklaces, wigs, etc.Let the guesser examine them for about 3 minutes then send them away. Have them change accessories with someone else and then they can enter the room with the guesser again. The guesser then must find what changed about the players. You can play with teams and whichever team's guesser gets the most right wins.

I hope you found these party ideas very useful!

How to make students want to listen

A way to make students want to listen to you is by rewarding them with something. So if they were being quiet you could place a small prize on their desk. (Can be purchased at Dollar Tree)
 Such as:
Eraser
Pencil
Pencil topper

Another thought is having teams. You can put students in teams and have them compete  against the other teams. Give points to each team for being good, finishing their work first (correctly), cleaning up, etc. At the end of the week the student with the most points can get a prize
 Such as:
Picking out of the Prize Box
Sitting on the carpet
Free Draw

Soon you will realize your students will want to listen and pay attention to you.

Planting a Read Seed

Helping students in a classroom want to learn is very important. So one way they can want to read is by giving them rectangular thin sheets of paper (shaped like a bookmark) and have them create a bookmark. Have a competition, but don't have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place because that excludes some kids. Have a prize or a name for each

 Such as:
Most Creative
Most Colorful
Most Fun
Most Enchanting
Most Fancy
Most Beautiful
Most Stunning
Most Lady-Like
Most Gentle
Most Soothing
Most Star-Like

Encourage them to read, because books can be fascinating just like their bookmarks.

Storage Tip

If your having trouble storing items, then this is the tip for you.

If you have a lot of little items that you don't want to get rid of then have a small grocery bag and put your items in it. If you have a few big items put them in a bin. Then put your bag or bags and put those in that bin. That way you can keep all your things organized and out of your way.

Yield:
4 servings

Ingredients

4 small sweet potatoes, scrubbed and washed
4 medium carrots, 2 roughly chopped and 2 shredded
1/2 medium onion, roughly chopped
1 plum tomato, chopped
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon ground cumin
Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

Poke each sweet potato a few times and microwave until fork tender, about 10 minutes, rotating about halfway through. Set aside and keep warm.

Combine the chopped carrots, onions, tomatoes, garlic, 2 tablespoons of the vinegar, cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, oregano, cayenne and a few grinds of black pepper in a food processor; pulse until coarsely chopped. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, add the vegetable mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until dry, 3 to 4 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water and cook, scraping up any brown bits with a wooden spoon, until the water evaporates, about 1 minute. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring and breaking it up into smaller chunks, until browned and cooked through, about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Split the potatoes in half, scoop out some of the warm flesh and add it to the beef mixture; stir to combine. Divide the potato halves among four plates and generously fill each half with the beef-potato mixture. Toss the shredded carrots with the cilantro, the remaining 1 teaspoon vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a medium bowl. Divide the carrot slaw among the four plates.
